First Steps

Ok, so I am going to keep track of how we make it through this process for anyone who may desire to make this crazy journey in the future. I'll post them under the label: How To.

So first, we felt God tugging us toward Africa and went for a 3 week visit to check it out. Then we prayed for guidance. (Then a lot of life happened.) Then we prayed some more.

We spoke with those in charge of the mission to make sure they actually had a place and a job for us. They wanted us to come "tomorrow" so we had the green light there.

I've been in touch with the couple that just finished their term of serving with Emoyeni. They have been soooo helpful! I started a note on my phone with questions and answers, so I can always write things down as I think of them. Some questions I had were: How much money do we need? How do we raise funds? How do we get health insurance? When are we going? How long are we staying? Where will we live? What is the visa process like? Some have been answered and we're still working on many!

I would say one of the hardest things right now is deciding when we are going. We want to have that pretty much figured out before we start telling people and raising funds so we don't seem super wishy-washy, but we're not sure how to decide or exactly how much time we will need for fundraising.
