Apparel, Events, Funding, Visas--Happy St Patty's!

Ok, we've been busy with mission prep, work, regular life..so let me see... This won't be exactly in order, but here's what we've been up to:

My dad was able to get some apparel made for us!!! Comment or email me if you'd like some! (hats, tanks, and short sleeves: $20; long sleeves: $30)

My mom hosted an open mic night at church to raise funds for our mission. It was a big success and so much fun!

Nick and I came up with an idea to lay out how much we need to raise for our monthly expenses. We created a board with monthly donation amounts that anyone can pledge to give.

We went to the police department to get fingerprinted for our FBI background checks for our visas. It took about 5 officers to help us figure out which form to use, but they were so patient and kind, and we did eventually find it!

In other visa news, in addition to preparing some other paperwork, we all need to see our doctors and Nick and I need TB tests. I'm not sure how the COVID-19 outbreak will affect our ability to get this done in a timely manner. We shall see! God can work out whatever timing He knows is best.

I met with Tara, from our church, who spent a year and a half with her family working with Emoyeni. It was nice to spend time together and she was able to give me a lot of insight and tips (for example: She said groceries cost about the same in SA as the US). She also told me they booked their flights through Fellowship Travel International, so I'll be checking them out!

And now, here we are, Saint Patrick's Day. We're blessed to be relatively healthy and to have corned beef to celebrate with. We're doing our part to limit our social interactions to get past this outbreak. I can't say we aren't tempted to buy our plane tickets now while they're cheap, but we don't know exactly when we will get our visas or the remainder of our funds. For now, we're minimizing our possessions, saving our pennies, praying, and chipping away at paperwork. We are planning a live Q&A on our "Pilgrim Priscos" Facebook page soon, but of course we are always available and happy to chat! Comment here, or email us at pilgrimpriscos@gmail.com.
