God is Not Delayed

What an interesting time in history...

On my birthday (April 4), Brooke developed a fever and our doctors said we should quarantine for 2 weeks. So Nick stayed home from work. Honestly, it was like a super birthday present. Brooke was sick for a few days, but nothing major. The rest of the time, the girls got tons of quality time with their dad and I got some much needed rest and support. We were able to get some projects done, including some preparations for moving.

I know a lot of people are struggling right now. Most people are out of work or at least have their hours cut. How finite is my faith... I was not expecting to receive any donations during this time. God and the people who have supported us have (as always) astounded me. We have received several donations, which have been a continual reassurance that this is still the plan that God has for us. One of those donations came from a friend who had received an unexpected and sizable check from a stranger. She saw him reading his Bible as she was walking and asked what he felt God was saying to him. After talking for a while, he went in his home and came out with a check for her, saying he had been asking God to send someone whom he could bless. She, in turn, felt led to bless us with a portion of that check.

I've been wondering how the COVID-19 outbreak will effect our timeline. Will we even make it to South Africa this year? The other day, three things happened that led me to believe that God is saying He knows His timing and it hasn't changed.

  1. I made a to-do list. I was thinking of putting things like "organize the office, clean the carpets, etc" but instead started to write down things I can actually get done for our visas, but haven't been doing.
  2. The same friend who had been given a check by a stranger before sent me a message saying she had sent another donation to us because she had received another unexpected gift.
  3. Someone who I don't often see on my Facebook timeline wrote a rather long post which I "randomly" decided not to scroll past. She referenced 2 Chronicles 14:11 which says, "...LORD, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power..." and went on to say "God can move you forward as easily in the middle of Covid-19 as He can when all is well with the world...don't fall into a mindset that God's plans are stymied or even delayed on account of this time...Put your faith in His ability to produce whether it seems easy to you or difficult--it makes no difference to Him. He just needs your trust."

This virus has not surprised God and it doesn't intimidate Him. When He called us to South Africa, He knew this would be part of the journey.

Thank you, God, for being patient with my tiny faith and continually sending reassurances that you're still working to accomplish your plan for us.
