Big Steps

Hello and Happy New Year everyone!

Since our last post, some really exciting things have happened. We bought plane tickets for March 13!! We also had our visa application appointment on January 11. We collected everything on the list of things we would need, but as we were warned by fellow missionaries, we were still missing a few things. We had been told by the consulate that they would only accept complete applications, but we were granted favor and allowed to leave our application and email the remaining documents. Praise God! We are just about ready to send those last bits along, and then the process is estimated to take 10-30 days. Please pray for continued favor, and an expedient and smooth process.

It seems that as the time to our departure decreases, God's assurances increase. He is so incredibly good, amen? Look for Him everywhere, church--He's there! Our trip to the consulate in New York was filled with His presence. He was in little things like the friendly man at the registration desk who happened to have family in the town where my grandparents live in MA, the South African man who happens to live on Cape Cod and gave me his card, the kindness of the woman who accepted our application, and the peace in my heart even though I had to go in alone (Covid protocol) and didn't have everything needed.

We continue to receive encouragement, prayers, and donations from so many people we know (and even some we don't). God has blessed us richly with each amazing person who crosses our path. Recently, more people seem to be interested in asking specific questions about South Africa, Emoyeni, and our trip. We LOVE answering these questions!
