Nick's First Post
Hey peeps, first time writing a blog post here and Audrey is already teasing me about “peeps” over my shoulder. That didn't take long.
We are coming down to the wire on our exit and I think Brooke (my two year old) and I are equally excited about leaving. She has no idea about what’s happening and I am just as oblivious. Maybe it’s a safety mechanism in my brain that says, “don't go there, that will be sad.” I like to blame it on the fact that I am still doing day-to-day tasks stateside. Either way, I have been very even-keeled in the emotion department for a long time. Audrey completed the visa paperwork solo for all intents and purposes. She worked so hard to get us to this point! Once it is approved all we have to do is ditch most of our earthly possessions and load our small family of five onto that plane. I am so proud of my wife.
We are currently plucking away at all the logistical chores. Selling things, gifting things, receiving things, organizing things, storing things. It seems that stuff moves in our house right now at a rapid pace. Yet, it seems that the day our plane leaves on March 13th keeps on approaching slow and steady.
The Lord has been preparing us for this trip for a long time and we don't feel worthy to serve Him in this way. May our lives be living sacrifices for Him. We know He is with us and has known of this journey since before the foundations of the earth were laid. If you are currently waiting on a promise from God, let me remind you of Habakkuk 2:3. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.
Please leave a comment so we know you’re here! It is a blessing that you are following our journey.
Peace in the Lord Jesus,
Nick
I pray your lives are blessed with the Spirit and you are a blessing to others. Go with God. Hugs, brother and sisters, all around.
