Onward and Upward
Dear friends,
Once again, we feel the Lord moving us–calling us to leave our home. We will be moving back to the States. We trust God to guide us on this pilgrimage, leading us wherever He will, that we may draw closer and closer to Him.
We have peace and joy knowing that this decision has been made following clear direction from God. We are so grateful for the confirmations He gave us so we can rest knowing we are walking with Him. That being said, our hearts are sore. South Africa has become our home. It was a battle adjusting to life here–realizing nothing looked like what we thought it would and often desiring the comfort of loved ones and familiar territory. We battled with God, with our circumstances, with each other, and within ourselves. The battles grew us, though, and for that we are grateful. There were times we wanted to leave this place, but we also spent a lot of time investing ourselves here. We formed precious relationships, we immersed ourselves in this rich culture, and we allowed our hearts to feel at home here. Living in South Africa is most of what our children can remember. Adalind does have many fond memories of Massachusetts, but each of the younger girls remember less. We will all miss our life here immensely!
Our journey is so bittersweet. While our hearts are aching and the goodbyes are painful, we do so look forward to seeing our first home as well as our next one. We will visit with family and friends for two months, before we move down to Tennessee. As we visit, please give us grace as we sort through these emotions. The girls may fall apart often. They may be shy of people they once knew but no longer remember. Nick and I will probably hold it together, but if we are quiet at times, know that we love you all dearly but we are just going through a lot.
We are coming to understand the call to take up our cross and follow Christ. We praise God for His goodness to us and His dedication to guiding us through every season. We thank Him for including us in His plan, no matter how many times we question it. Painful as it may be to surrender our will to His, we are honored to be a part of His story and we are so blessed by all the beauty He surrounds us with on the path.
Your fellow pilgrims,
The Priscos
